Public Hearing on Alliant Energy Electric Rate Case Moved to Iowa State Fairgrounds-Varied Industries Building

Date:
Monday, September 30, 2019

(Des Moines) – In order to provide a larger space to conduct its public hearing for Alliant Energy’s proposed customer electric rate increase, the Iowa Utilities Board issued an order today moving the hearing location to the second floor conference center of the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, 3000 E. Grand Ave., Des Moines. The hearing dates remain set for October 7-9, 2019, starting at 9:00 a.m. on October 7 and 8:00 a.m. on October 8 and 9.

Today’s order, in Docket No. RPU-2019-0001, follows the IUB’s prehearing conference of September 27, 2019, at which hearing logistics were discussed. Due to space limitations in its Hearing Room, the IUB determined the public interest and the participants involved will be better served by relocating the hearing.

The IUB had issued an order on September 12 notifying the parties that due to the large number of participants and witnesses, alternative sites would be explored for the public hearing.

Interested persons can attend in person or may watch the October 7-9 hearing via live video stream at https://iowautilitiesboard.eduvision.tv/LiveSched.aspx.

Written comments regarding Alliant’s proposed electric rate increase can be submitted to the IUB using its online comment form at https://iub.iowa.gov/online-services/open-docket-comment-form or by email to customer@iub.iowa.gov.

All non-confidential filings in docket RPU-2019-0001 are available to review in the IUB’s electronic filing system under the docket number at https://efs.iowa.gov.
